Experience

This is my 12th year in education. After college, I started as an English teacher in the South Bronx. I returned to South Jersey in 1999 and earned Educational Media Specialist certification in 2000. I spent my first year as a Media Specialist at Cardinal O'Hara High School in Springfield, PA. I then spent four years as Media Specialist at Maple Shade High School. This is my 5th year at Pitman High School. I also work part-time as a public librarian at Mount Laurel Public Library and serve on the Board of Trustees at McCowan Public Library. I am a member of the New Jersey Association of School Librarians (NJASL).

Bio

I grew up in Glassboro and graduated high school with the intention of being a political science major in college. During college I got involved with the Future Teachers organization and started my career as an English teacher. My interests in literature, research, reading, and technology led me to pursue my education as a media specialist, which is what I've been doing for the last 10 years.

I currently reside in Pitman with my 3 step-children and wife Melissa, who is a middle school science teacher in Washington Township. I enjoy reading, cooking, skiing, and running with my dog, Beckley. This past fall I ran my first marathon!

My favorite book? Always a toss-up between Watership Down, by Richard Adams, and Rabbit, Run, by John Updike.

I am also a co-advisor for the Class of 2012, volunteer advisor for the Chess Club and Outdoor Club, I serve on the McCowan Library Board of Trustees, and I am the PTV Coordinator.
