In 1999 Dr. Carey graduated from Oakcrest High School in Mays Landing, NJ he then went on to receive his Bachelors of Science degree from Messiah College in 2003.  He studied trumpet and instrumental conducting under Dr. William Stowman and completed his student teaching in the Boiling Spring School District and the Cumberland Valley School District.  He has served as the manager for the All-South Jersey Senior High Wind Ensemble and the New Jersey All-State Symphonic Band.  In addition to this he has also served as a guest conductor for the All-South Jersey Elementary Band and the Olympic Conference Junior High Honor Band.  In the Winter of 2017 he completed his doctoral degree from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.


From 2003 until 2006 Dr. Carey taught at both the Wildwood Crest Memorial School and the Cape May City Elementary school.  During that time he taught 4-8th grade instrumental music and directed their concert bands.  In 2006 he took a full time position in the Stafford Township School District teaching 4th grade band at the McKinley Avenue School in Manahawkin, NJ.  In 2007 he came to Pitman High School full time and is currently serving as teacher of music at Pitman High School.
