Renaissance Program

-------------------------------------------------------- Renaissance Returns --------------------------------------------------------

Renaissance is back! Following the success of last school year’s implementation, we are continuing to build the student reward program. Last year was a great learning experience and we have, and will continue, to make changes to the program. Our goal remains the same: reward students for making positive choices and for working to better themselves.

It is important to focus on the positive aspects of our learning environment. As such, those students who choose to be involved and meet the expectations of this organization will have special rewards and privileges for their special commitment to success. During the last school year, we surprised students on several occasions for doing the right thing. We had treats in the morning for students who were on time, cookies for students who had not missed school, a lunch party for students who showed exemplary behavior during lunch and events at the end of the marking periods for card holders. This year we will resume surprising students who continue to make positive choices about their education. In addition, we will be expanding the card based reward program and offering new activities which will aim to increase student involvement.

-------------------------------------------------------- Are There Any Questions? --------------------------------------------------------

Students will be evaluated on a marking-period basis. Some marking periods your child may be recognized by the program, some they may not (it is a program based on individual student choices). It is the hope of PHS that students will consistently make positive decisions about their own educational practices.   As educators, we recognize it’s still cool to do the right thing, and when students do, they will be acknowledged for those positive decisions.   Please help support this endeavor by encouraging your child to strive towards being a part of this Renaissance Program. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact any staff member for more information.
